Each DIY Art kit includes:

  • 1 12" board with 2 holes for hanging

  • string

  • name in wood lettering

  • icons of choice (view options here)

  • paints

  • paint brushes/ wedges

From your end you will need:

Get comfy. Grab a snack. Unwrap your DIY art kit and follow the directions below:

Note: more complex icons will be held together with tape. Before painting, remove the tape and dissemble the individual pieces of your icons to paint separately. You will be able to re-assemble them when dry for a professional result!

Board:

Using the sponge brush apply a small amount of undiluted paint to your board. Do not overload the brush. Rather apply multiple coats.

Set aside to dry.

Optional:

  • blend your background color with white to create streaking or shading effects.

Letters & Icons:

Use the sponge wedges or fine paint brushes to dab on small amounts of paint. Less is more! You'll have better control over the project with wedges that are not overloaded with paint.

Set aside to dry.

Options:

  • blend white into your paint to create highlights on your letters.

  • for more color and texture diversity, you can also use markers, crayons, paint pens or sharpies.

Position your dried pieces on your board. Move them around. See which assembly works best for your design. You can even have some elements overlap the edges of your board.

Apply the smallest amount of glue to the backs of your words and icons. Attach them to the board with the hanging holes oriented to the top corners.

For more complex icons, puzzle the individual pieces together and glue in place.

Double knot the string on both ends, to ensure that your art will not fall off its hanger.

Display with pride on your door, wall or counter top!
